How to view transferred .ts files on pc/mac?
« on: 03, April 2010, 01:14:44 PM »
Hi - I would like to transfer recorded shows from F-9000 to a PC or Mac to share with friends.  Do I just need to transfer the file recorded_show.ts to my mac/pc or do I need the other index files etc?

Then should the .ts file play as is in something like videolan VLC?  I have tried to play a recorded .ts show on both a mac and pc with vlc and 'nothing happens'  the show plays in a split second and goes back to start.

Any one had success playing recorded shows on other players?

Just install the K-lite mega codec pack it has a transport stream codec.

Hi - I have found out what actually works for mac users.  (the K-Lite codec are for windows not mac).

To view and/or convert .ts files on the mac you need to have the mpeg-2 codec for quicktime installed.  This is a paid add on for quicktime.

Also there is a freeware program called MPEG Streamclip from squared5.com which works as a player, convertor, editor.

I've had success using mplayer for the mac, viewing .ts files recorded on an ultraplus 900hd.
Cheers

Have just copied .ts files from a F9200 via a pc to a Acer A500 Android 3.2.1 tablet. Using the free player included with Android, MX Video Player, it played the .ts file without any issues. I have paid the fee to purchase the Pro version, not  necessary. But I thought it was worth it.
Have been watching a 1.7Gb file (67 minutes) recorded from SBS HD. Pleased as punch!

The best solution is to download the Freemake free video file converter....

It will convert TS files etc to many other formats. I convert ts files to play on my iPhoney using the apple setting. Most excellent!
