new electrical code of practice
« on: 23, July 2010, 01:04:39 PM »
i read on a forum abouth someone having problems with a heatpump effecting there tv reception in a tresterial setup.

i help the goverment write new standards for inverters and varable speed drives used in industry and there is a new electrical code of practice in draft regarding vsd and pds systems in for use in first enviroment installations.

any thing with an inverter ie heat pump or vsd in a home now has to meet a new standard for efi/ rfi emissions as they are starting to see a big trend in heat pumps effecting small modern day consumer electronics ie cordless phones, wifi, bluetooth, medical equipment and tv and radio etc...

and any non compliant gear is at the discression of the home owner to get repaired or modified to meet this standard with a fine up to 10 grand and a 24 month compliance once notified of problem if someone reports it.

good for the tv recption etc but bad for heat pump users with cheap heatpumps that lack a first enviorment mains filter, many do not comply after various testing by the ministry of econimic development so i am told some big name brands in certain model don't comply also.
