Losing Freeview signal at set times of the day.
« on: 25, February 2011, 08:54:08 AM »
Hi, I have 2 work mates who have come to me with Freeview issues, they are similar but different.
Issue 1: This person has a freeview box (+Dish) and although her signal is fine during the day she loses it after 6pm.
Issue 2: In this case it is builtin HD Freeview, again her set works fine most of the time but goes off most nights after 9pm.

We are in Hastings. Any ideas please?

Do they have a Sharp 10750MHz L.o. LNB if so it is probably the cause of the problem and needs to be replaced.

Do they have a new UHF Aerial (F Type connectors etc) New RG6 cable, F Type splitters if any, if they have VHF the diplexer and VHF Aerial should also have F Type connectors, it is very important to maintain the surge impedance in the whole system otherwise problems can occur. Is the Aerial the right size for the distance to the transmitter. Are there any sources of interferance.
