RF Modulator
« on: March 01, 2010, 02:31:57 PM »
Hi, when I got Sky HD installed last year they have to put in a RF modulator which sent the SKy singnal through RF to my other rooms and it was a small black box that only had composite from the decoder to composite video and one audio plug, anyway it packed up and now Sky installed a new one which now has 2 RF plugs and 3 composites video and L/R audio so what audio was I getting before they replaced it? mono?
Also would a SCART to composite cable from the SCART on the decoder to the RF modulator be better than composite to composite?

It won't make any difference.

Is there anything out there that is a F type TV splitter with 2 IN and 4 OUT? just wanting to eliminate an additional splitter.

What I would love to see is a DVB-T modulator that you could RF HD say from Mysky HDi to a FreeviewHD set top box....only thing that would be missing is the EPG.

you can get a second remote and use a remote remote sender to control the epg viewing etc... then:

you can get  hdmi repeater/transmitter they are available but are expensive.

they basically send multiple hdmi signals through a box to another remote box some have pass through so that you can still use the hdmi signal of your decoder output to your tv.

most work on the wifi 5/2.4/1.6ghz bands.

there were some on trade me for about $1300 with 3 hdmi ports and 2 component or y,pb,pr inputs/outputs.

Yeah know about those, what I was looking at is a proper DVB-T MPEG-4 modulator you could RF though your antenna system (I use 3 analog modulators and have SKY and 2 DVD players) routing though the house) this way you could put MySkyHD, Blu-ray player etc in HD, I have done a Google search but most of the DVB-T modulators are either MEPG-2 or for professional use with a $$$ tag as well!!!

When you setup an RF Modulator with an HD signal. Like MySky HDi or Freeview HD. Do the TV's pick up the signal up as HD? Or is the HD lost through the RF Mod? Cheers.

RF is SD only.

I have noticed that the RF modulator I have for my SKY HDi to other TV's only outputs in mono, is there something I can get to output in stereo?
