This is an impressive box

Just downloaded the new web interface for the 900HD, it is very impressive! Now I can schedule it to record programs for me while I am overseas on business!
Overall this is a impressive box, I really love the software in it, it is super simple to use while offering the most advanced latest features available like DLNA. With DLNA you can stream all your recordings to other TVs in the house that have DLNA in them or to other devices such as tablets. Very cool, you can store all you media on it (very convenient) and access it from everywhere else.
It is is one of the best PVRs available, second only to the X-9200HD PVR. It is amazingly capable i.e. you can record three channels at the same time and watch another, it will even do PIP.
Simply put the Ultraplus PVRs are the BEST! nothing else is even close to this good.

Having looked around the shops without finding any really high quality units available I thought I would look online. I am very glad I did as I was astonished by the large range of super high quality products available here, what surprised me the most was that the pricing was also very reasonable.
After giving Freeviewshop a ring I decided to go for the Ultraplus 900HD which is second only to the X-9200HD and differs mainly by being only a single tuner unit .This means you can only record from one transponder at a time. I looked at this limitation in detail looking through the program guide I found that on 2 programs clashed that would cause me an issue and in both cases as TV3+1 broadcast them an hour later I could still record them on the 900HD. Another other major difference is that the X-9200HD has a built in HDD, I don’t mind using an external one though and got on from Freeviewshop with my 900HD.
When I received mine (next day after ordering it) it was preconfigured and ready to go all I had to do was plug it in. I was of course absolutely blown away by the picture quality. It really put my previous satellite receiver to shame. I have also been extremely impressed with the quality of the whole unit from start to finish, it has extremely well designed software and is beautifully made. It is also lightning fast, this is really nice particularly when you are scheduling programs for recording.

Very good for Freeview and the Aussie channels, I have used it to replace Sky and becuase the PVR feature is so good I and you can store so many recordings, I have about 1000 unwatched ones! My viewing options are much better than when I had Sky, very impressive considering its free TV I am watching!

Overall the box is supurb!

This is yet another example of how far ahead of everyone else Ultraplus is.
It is a magnificent set top box giving you incredible picture quality for Freeivew and the Aussie channels, it is so good I often get comments from people telling me that and asking how I have done it.
On top of that it is an excellent recorder and works really well with the HDD that I got with it from freeviewshop, the HDD even goes to sleep by itself if you put the Ultraplus in standby. The program guide is just fantastic, the whole guide (yes every channel, for the whole week) pops up at a clik of the guide button and you can scroll through it fast as you like, no waiting etc, ONE touch scheduling then schedules anything that you want. Never seen anything anywhere near this good.
Ad skipping is equally good, skip through the ads instantly.
The file list is really great too you get all the info you want including the program names and time they were recorded, descriptions etc nicely presented and fast, with lots of handy features like sorting by size.

Super Quality All-round

Got my 900HD as soon as they came out, I have had it for a few weeks now so I can give you guys an accurate review.
1) Picture Quality
Truly Amazing - SD channels look like HD and HD channels are unbelievable
2) User Interface
Very nice - really easy to understand menus with all the options you need and none you don't
Very fast - super smooth operation and look, particularly the EPG which is by far the best I have seen on anything.
3) Features
Has heaps - The ones I have tried and they all work great are:
WebZeal web browser (Use a cool little keypad via the remote)
YouTube Viewer (really nice UI too)
WiFi (supports WEP WPA and WPA2)
Ethernet (Faster than WiFi, use that if you can)
Samba Server (Totally configurable)
FTP (Works nicely with FileZilla)
Telnet (You can execute Linux command line commands on the box)
Mapping Network Drives (You can play files from your network by mapping it)
4) Remote control
Well designed easy to use with lost of functions directly accessible no need to hunt through heaps of menus.
4) General Build Quality
Really nice, it is deceptively small but really well made.
